Tears Glow Blue On Black is both a visual elegy and a celebration. It’s a tribute to the unheard voices within the Black community and a sacred honoring of Black beauty in all of its fullness. Born from a deep ache and deeper love, this series moves through the quiet weight of endurance, the ache of grief carried in the body, and the resilience required to exist in a world that so often refuses to see us.

The work holds multitudes. It captures the young and the old, the joyful and the sorrowful, those caught in mourning and those resting in peace. Each image is a testament to the breadth of Black life. Faces shaped by time, eyes bright with possibility, bodies softened by memory, spirits both heavy and light. Here, grief and grace share the same space. Laughter lingers beside loss. Tenderness lives alongside strength.

In honoring this range, the series reveals Black beauty in its truest form: expansive, raw, and sovereign. Beauty that does not demand perfection or permanence, but embraces becoming. Even in moments of exhaustion, even in tears, there is a glow. A radiance that will be damned if it is dimmed. And because of this, this series is ever expanding.

This work is an act of witnessing. It insists that every story, every season, every emotion matters. Because our lives are not singular, and neither are our truths. And if we do not tell them, who will?
